Loading ...“Fun2Fly Microcopter” Recall Due to Fire and Burn Hazard
In Washington, D.C. the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Soft Air USA, Inc. out of Grapevine, Texas, announced a voluntary recall of a remote-controlled helicopter toy called the “Fun2Fly Microcopter” with the item number “91001″. This item number is found printed above the UPC label.
The recall became necessary because the rechargeable battery inside the toy can catch fire during charging. The helicopter comes with a transmitter for controlling and and recharging the helicopter. The body of the helicopter is made of foam and plastic, measuring about 6 ½” x 2 ½” inches. The transmitter measures about 4 ½” x 5″ inches. The words “Fun2Fly” and “Microcopter” are printed on the box.
This toy is manufactured in China and was sold at sporting good stores and other retailers nationwide from May to December 2007. The recall says that comsumers should stop using the recalled toy helicopter and return it to the store for a full refund.
