(No Ratings Yet)I know I missed the generation who had to go to a well daily and draw their own water in order to cook, clean, and bathe. My grandmother, as a child, did not have the luxury of plumbing most of us have today. She did not have the ease of walking up to the sink and turning a spigot. I am sure many in my great grandmother’s generation had to lug water quite a distance. The water then had to be heated on a wood stove in order to have it hot. Labor intensive effort was needed in order to maintain health and cleanliness standards.
Personally, I take all of the modern plumbing for granted because it’s all I have ever known. If I want a bath, I go draw a bath. If I want to hop into the shower for five minutes, I just go in and turn on the hot and cold, balance the right temperature, and I am clean within minutes.
I am the same way with rechargeable batteries. I take them for granted. I no longer have to go outside the house to find charged batteries. I just go over to my small charging bench on my desk, throw the discharged batteries on the charger and grab some full ones. I can take as many as I need and know I can come back and get more later. It’s just a matter of walking up to the charger and pulling off the charged batteries.
I know my great grandmother had no real need for batteries in her day, but if she lived today, she’d sure encourage me to spend my time on better things than repetitive battery shopping.

At Battery Boulevard our intention is to awaken the general public about basic battery technology that will help them benefit by switching from primary batteries, used once and discarded, to the great benefits of rechargeable power. By using recently available rechargeable power, we do definitely help the environment, but we also directly and immediately benefit by saving money as well.
